A Holistic approach to Management and Maintenance of Road Network in Punjab / INDIA
2004 CESROUTE Project
Saturday 22 March 2003 , Kulwinder Singh Rao

Punjab has a network of nearly 52000 km of bituminous road. Even thought the Government continues to allocate higher resources for road sector, yet the demand is far outstripping the supply.

Such as situation demands that the funds deployed should be optimally used for maximum return to the society.

My proposed project shall be to study and adapt to Indian conditions the financing techniques, prevalent technologies, Pavement evaluation procedures and procurement procedures used in France for physically execution of works.

I sincerely hope that this project can help us devise better, more efficient and economical system of managing and in maintaining our road network in long term stable condition.
