lundi 4 octobre 2010 , Sandrine Beaujon

Virtual Product Life Cycles for Green Products and Services

Call for Papers

You are cordially invited to participate in the 8th International Product Lifecycle Management Conference, PLM11, to take place 11th - 13th July 2011 in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.

The purpose of the PLM11 conference is to share recent developments in the area of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) between participant from research, industrial application and software development The conference is promoted by the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) Working Group 5.1 on Global Product Development for the whole Lifecycle (www.ifip-wg51.org).

Conference Scope

Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) is an integrated business approach to the collaborative creation, management and dissemination of engineering data throughout the extended enterprises that create, manufacture and operate engineered products and systems. PLM supports extended enterprises over the whole lifecycle of their products and systems from concept to end of life and disposal. PLM involves issues of people, processes, business systems and information, and presents major opportunities for those involved in the processes and tools used in all aspects of the product lifecycle.

PLM11 will bring together researchers, developers, and users of PLM in an event that will combine keynote lectures, exhibitions, paper presentations, poster and panel sessions with an active social programme in the Eindhoven region of high tech innovation. The conference program will give ample opportunity for attendees to influence the future PLM research and development agenda. We invite PLM researchers, developers and practitioners to join the conference in order to shape the future of this new field and advance the science and practice of enterprise systems development.

Contributions are invited on all aspects of PLM, including :

• PLM for Digital Factories

• PLM for mechatronic products

• PLM infrastructure and implementation processes,

• PLM maturity and improvement concepts,

• Collaborative product development,

• PLM support for product innovation

• Models for cross-disciplinary information sharing

• Capture, structuring and reuse of design information,

• Disassembly and recycling

• End of Life and regulatory aspects

• Green products

• Long term retention and archiving

• Organizational change management and PLM,

• PLM virtual and simulation environments,

• Embedded PLM intelligence in products,

• Enterprise systems integration,

• Interoperability and security issues,

• PLM and the environment,

Venue

Eindhoven is the center of manufacturing industry in the Netherlands. It became the 5th city of the Netherlands thanks to Philips and DAF-Trucks. Although Philips moved most of its manufacturing activities to other countries, the research and development activities remained and with it several high tech off-springs which developed to world leading companies like ASML, FEI, NXP and Assembleon. Their strategic outsourcing policies created a network of specialized high-tech suppliers, which is complemented by Eindhoven University of Technology, the Academy of Industrial Design and the High Tech Automotive Campus. That is why the Eindhoven region is called "Brainport" : a world class center of product innovation and PLM applications.

From a tourist point of view you find just outside Eindhoven the village of Nuenen in the middle of the picturesque landscape where Vincent van Gogh made his early paintings. Within a circle of 150 km you find attractive cities like Maastricht, Aachen, Köln, Brussels, Antwerp, Brugge etc. Amsterdam is at only 80 train minutes. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit this unique city with its characteristic canals, its human scale architecture, its magnificent musea, its authentic pubs and its free atmosphere.

Paper Submission

Authors are invited to submit abstracts to register interest in the Conference (this is not mandatory but is preferred), then original papers of up to 10 pages in length for review. Each paper will be reviewed by three members of the international Programme Committee, and those that are accepted will be published, by Inderscience Publishers, in the Conference proceedings and may be considered for publication in the International Journal of Product Lifecycle Management (IJPLM, www.inderscience.com/ijplm). Submission instructions will be given on the PLM11 website : www.plm-conference.org. Industry presentations or emerging research presentations are also welcome which do not require paper submission.

Keynote speakers

Dr. Erastos Filos, European Commission FP7 ICT Theme Coordinator, "Factories of the Future", (Information Society and Media Directorate-General) will deliver a speech on the current vision of the European calls.

Dr. Bertrand Braunschweig, head of the ICT department at the ANR funding agency will give a talk on the new programs of his department, including those in relationship with PLM.
