Organized by

Pascal Institute (CNRS, IFMA, UBP) and Department of Mechatronics (UPT) at the French Institute for Advanced Mechanics in Clermont-Ferrand, France

Under the Patronage of IFToMM and RSR

International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science (IFToMM) Robotics Society of Romania (RSR)

With the support of Blaise Pascal University (UBP) Centre National de la Recherché Scientifique (CNRS) French Institute for Advanced Mechanics (IFMA) University “Politehnica” of Timisoara (UPT)

The joint conference will be held in Clermont-Ferrand, at the French Institute for Advanced Mechanics (IFMA). The organization of this joint conference is part of a series of scientific and cultural events celebrating the 20 years of IFMA. Clermont-Ferrand is the capital of Auvergne, a region of the centre of France, with an incredible diversity of landscapes (a range of dormant volcanoes which is unique in Europe, wild gorges, lakes and mountain peaks). Homeland of Blaise Pascal, the region has a rich history and culture whose charm we invite you to discover. Clermont-Ferrand is easily accessible from all countries by plane, train or car (see website). The previous editions were held in Romania, beginning in 1972 under the patronage of IFToMM and RSR. This is the first edition to be organized outside Romania and we hope to give it a strong international flavour.

Aim

The aim of the joint conference is to bring together researchers, scientists, industry experts and PhD students to provide a general forum for researchers, engineers and PhD students involved in the general area of mechanisms, mechanical transmissions, robotics and mechatronics, to disseminate their latest research results and exchange views on the future research directions of these fields.

Topics

We are looking for original, high-quality contributions addressing (but not limited to) the following :

MTM

Mechanisms – analysis and synthesis

Dynamics of mechanisms and machines

Mechanical Transmissions

Precision mechanics, Biomechanics, Mechatronics

Micromechanisms and Microactuators

Computational and Experimental Methods

CAD in mechanism and machine design

Robotics

Mechanical design of robot architecture

Parallel robots, Mobile robots

Micro and nano robots

Sensors and actuators in robotics,

Intelligent control systems

Biomedical engineering

Teleoperation, haptics, virtual reality

Deadlines

Full paper submission : October 31, 2011

Acceptance notification : December 15, 2011

Final paper submission : January 15, 2012

Early registration : before February 15, 2012.

Submission, presentation and publication

The official language of the joint conference is English. Each paper will be reviewed, and the papers selected by the Scientific Committee will be published in the periodical “Applied Mechanics and Materials” available in full text online at www.scienctific.netindexed by SCOPUS and monitored by all major abstract media. All submitted papers must be strictly prepared following the publication guidelines.
