EVACES 2005 - Experimental Vibration Analysis For Civil Engineering Structures
INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE : 26-28 OCTOBER 2005 BORDEAUX, FRANCE
Saturday 1 October 2005 , Françoise Bourgain, Hélène Skoutarides, Jean-Olivier Laval

Welcome

Vibration measurements of civil engineering structures are not a recent practice and many studies have been carried out in the past.

What is different nowadays is the increase in the number of dynamic tests carried out on structures for a better assessment or monitoring of their structural behaviour.

Various reasons justify the undertaking of dynamic tests: to enrich knowledge of structural dynamic behaviour, to check modelling choices, to evaluate structural integrity, to monitor structural condition, or to check serviceability conditions.

The improvement of computing capacities led to the development of powerful algorithms for the determination of the mechanical characteristics. Information can then help to reduce uncertainty associated with the structural strength, and thus allow a more relevant structural reliability assessment.

The aim of this conference is to provide a forum for practitioners and researchers from all around the world to exchange and share views and experiences related to the measurement, the data processing and the use of experimental vibration analysis for civil engineering structures

Exhibition

The International Symposium on Experimental Vibration Analysis For Engineering Structures EVACES 2005 will allow professionals, around the world to exchange their view about the future of the profession.

The involvement of International Association of Bridge and Structural Engineering and of the French Association Civil Engineering represents an opportunity to meet all active professionals: contractors, suppliers, consulting engineers and academics.

The exhibition will give an opportunity to discover the latest methods and technologies, construction and testing equipments.

It is aimed at the major actors of the sector coming from both academic and professional worlds: research laboratories and universities, scientific societies, software companies, materials manufacturers, firms, private and public engineering consulting firms, with a special attention for the experts.

This exhibition will promote the relationships between professionals by enabling:
- the exhibitors to present and promote the most efficient equipment, software and job solutions as well as meeting French and international experts;
- the participants to compare products and abilities, to have access to the latest information and to receive the most judicious information. Both groups will be able to turn a friendly moment into a professionally useful one.

A special room near the conference room will be devoted to the exhibition. Coffee breaks will be served closed to this room.
